BLACK MAMBA
No, it’s not Kobe’s bicycle.
Not Batman’s either.
The Black Mamba was conceived as a Personal Statement for the Stanford Design Program - a piece of extra-curricular work that shows who you are as a designer. The idea came to me after I picked up a Litespeed titanium bicycle frame from a junkyard for $25 - that was missing a downtube due to theft. 80% of the material for 1% of the price is a steal in my book.
The Process.
The money shot.
The form and graphics around the headtube were designed around an Orca carbon fiber stem.
The custom CNCed stem faceplate doubles as a GoPro mount.
The seat tube clamp was recessed below the level of the top tube fairing for a cleaner look.
Downtube fairing hugs the front wheel for aerodynamics.
Having a partial frame inside helped keep the frame non-deviant.
